BOLINGBROOK BUCCANEERS FOOTBALL & CHEER RUNS ON VOLUNTEER HELP. WHEN YOUR CHILD AND FAMILY JOINS, PLEASE CONSIDER CHOOSING ONE OR MORE OF THE VOLUNTEER NEEDS.
The Bolingbrook Buccaneers Football & Cheer program is only possible through volunteer support. There are several ways in which you can get involved. Below is a list of some of the volunteer opportunities that we will have throughout the season.
- Team Parent - (Need 1 for the season) Each team needs a parent that can commit to helping throughout the entire season. The team parent will help administer the Buccaneers TeamApp, maintain the team book, and send out announcements regarding practice, games, and team events.
- Chain Crew - (Need 3 for each home game) The home team provides a set of volunteers to hold each end of the first down chain and the down marker. Volunteers do not need to have any knowledge of the game of football. The offical serving as the closest linemen will instruct the chain crew when and where to move. If you want to get close to the action here is your chance!
- Concession Setup & Teardown - (Need as many as possible!) Will be taking down canopies, tables, spirit wear booth items and assisting with concession breakdown and clean-up of stadium. Two people needed for the final shift.
- Time Keeper - (Need 1 for each home game) The home team needs to provide a time keeper for the game. The time keeper for games played at Bolingbrook High School needs to sit in the press box.
- Play Counter - (Need 1 per game) The play counter stands on the sideline nears the coaches and tracks the players that are on the field for each play on a clipboard. The play counter ensures that all kids are getting the minimum amount of playing time and are getting the proper opportunity to learn the game of football.
- Concessions - (Need 2-3 parents for each home game) We need 2-3 parents to help with the concession stand at each home game. You do not need to volunteer in the concession stand while your son/daughter is playing or cheering. We will coordinate this effort by having the volunteers serve a shift that is before or after your son/daughter has played. For example a parent of a 10u player might help during the 8u/9u game and vice versa.
